Founder's Story

Underneath The Makeup was born from a very personal place — my own hair loss journey.

After experiencing severe stress and hormonal changes, my hair began to suffer in ways I never expected. My edges disappeared. My hair started breaking near the crown. In what felt like no time, I went from shoulder length to neck length — and nothing I tried from the store shelves seemed to help. The parabens and sulfates were only making things worse, leaving my hair dry, brittle, and breaking even more.

So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I began studying herbs, natural oils, and their healing properties alongside an herbalist. After months of trial, error, and dedication, I created my first set of products — all-natural, lightweight, clean-scented, and formulated with infused herbs and organic oils.

The results changed everything. Within a few short months, I reversed my hair damage. My edges came back. My hair grew.

I shared my products with family and friends — and watched the same transformation happen for them. That’s when I knew this was bigger than me.
